•
rJ
DATE:
TO:
FROM:
MEiiORIN DUM
September 13, 1990
Steve Sarkozy
John Shardlow
SUBJECT: PLANNING OFFICE HOURS, September 12, 1990
1• Daniel and Fred Commers (633-6312)
Daniel and Fred Commers from Roseville Properties and Ken
Chestnut of Construction 70 met at the Roseville Post Office site
on County Road B2 to inspect the landscape improvements that were
made pursuant to staff direction. We inspected the repairs that
were made to the back side of the site where erosion had
previously occurred, the reseeding and the erosion control
measures that had been put into place on that part of the site.
We also inspected and determined that splash blocks had been ut
on all of the roof drains and that the rear side of the p
had been seeded. Much of the discussion ocused on the condition
of the bank at the south side of the property where erosion had
recently occurred. Although the solution was far from optimum
Roseville Properties had paid a landscape contractor to overseed
with crown vetch which we had directed. It is our opinion that
assuming that this crown vetch takes (which it almost undoubtedl
will) that this material is so invasive that it will take over
the area. When it has taken over the area, it will provide the
optimum protection from erosion and provide a suitable low
maintenance ground cover for this area.
2• Nelson (484-9027)
Robert Nelson is the architect representing the Wonderful Muffler
Man shop on Rice Street, immediately south of Owasso Blvd. S,
This item had been continued at the Planning Commission meetin
and the applicants had been directed to meet with staff to
discuss ways in which appearance of the proposed metal buildin
could be upgraded. From our discussions with the applicant and
his architect, it is very clear that the budget is
on this project. It is also true that they are doinglaebuildind
that needs to have very high ceilings in some areas to
accommodate the internal wench.
suggestions of ways in which the image ofa the tbuilding could °f
improved with the addition of some color accents and some three
dimensional design elements. We also directed them to add some
landscaping around the perimeter of the site. We invited them t
return in a week to discuss their progress on the desi n
modifications. g
 3• Ranconi
Mark Ranconi
from Roseville Properties came in with a sign
