5:i <br />. <br />Ed Tischner and Jerry Slawik were in regarding the Midway Ford <br />� property, west of Snelling Avenue, south of Terrace Drive and <br />east of Lincoln Drive. Mr. Tischner cam�he ne oti tion� related <br />Steve Sarkozy to discuss the history of g <br />to the vacation of the frontage road adjacent to Snelling Avenue. <br />Mr. Sarkozy was interested in finding out first hand the <br />background related to these discussions and to further review the <br />process that needs to be followed to complete this vacation. In <br />particular, Mr. Sarkozy wanted to review with Mr. Tischner the <br />need to make some aesthetic improvements to what is now the back <br />and will be the front of the structure, as well as the chain link <br />fence that surrounds the auto dealership. <br />Mr. Tischner expressed a number of serious concerns regarding the <br />current state of his business in particular and the economy in <br />general, and stated that at least at the outset, the vacation <br />would be of no particular economic benefit to him. He explained <br />that he was willing to honor the agreements that Mrs. Slawik had <br />made prior to her death but that there was a limits to the amount <br />of money he could spend on improving the praperty. There was <br />alsQ some discussion about the need to retain a portion of the <br />right-of-way alQng the section of the vacated right-of-way that <br />abuts Snelling Avenue, for the purpose of accommodating future <br />light rail transit lines. It was agreed that this subject would <br />be reviewed and discussed b�tween the City staff and legal <br />counsel for Mr. Slawik. The discussion ended with a rautual <br />� agreement on the part of the City and Mr. Tischner and .�ir. Slawik <br />that at such time as the parcel inunediately south of Midway Ford <br />comes in for d�velopment, that the matter of improving the <br />aesthetics of both the Midway Eord building and site would be <br />addressed. <br />� <br />
