.
Planning Office Hours
September 17, 1986
 Pa e 2
9
• 3. Cam bell 484-4638
Carol and Tom Campbell live at 976 Transit, on the south side
opposite Chatsworth Street. On September 9, 1985, the City
Council approved a minor variance for an addition to their
residence to accommodate a garage expansion from one car ta
two car. The conditions under which the minor variance was
gr.anted remain the same, although the construction has not
yet begun. They were unaware that the variance permit
expired after six months.
4. Thompson, 332-1234
Milo Thompson, Architect, was in with one of his staff (John
Akiba) and Jim Johnston, representing thf developer of the
Rosegointe project on Hamline Avenue. We discussed a pre-
liminary plat f4r whch they are applying, which divides the
property into three parcels; Phse 1, rtase 2, and propexy
to be dedicated to the City for ,rk purposs (the pond to
the north).
Phase 1 will include most of the new structures, anc3
landscaping for th bulk of the site. Phase 2 wiZl include
the remodeling of the older structure and the connecting
link. This staging of development can best be handld as a
Plannd Unit Developmnt, fileci in conjunction with the
 preliminary plat.
There is also some question as to the exact boundaries on the
west side of the site whQre the praperty is contiguous to the
ity's public park. Ther: may be a'no man's land" in thi
area not coWered by the legal description in the ded £rom
Carboni ta the Rosepointe Corporation, They will be pursuin
settlement f this westerly boundary perhaps thrvugh court
acion).
5. Kersten, 37-1770
Loren. Kjersten, representing Commrs-Klodt, was in to discuss
a progasal, for a ground sign at the northeast corner of
Patton Road anci County Road Co The sigr would be 3' x 10',
mounted on sloped pedestal. The prcabl.em is that due to the
existenc of a poncYxng area at this northeast corner, the
sign would have to be placed closr to the riqhtof-way tha
the forty feet xcuired.
Being a low ground sign, i felt that this would an appro-
priate solution. I sucgested they determine precisely the
ponding location relvant to he proposed sign, and prepare
the appropriate drawings and application for variance.
6. Krakr 339-4200
Ron Kran}c called from the airport the morning of September
17, asking if he could bXing a couple of interesteci investors
from Omaha and Detroit. One is a developer, and the other is
a major reailer, and are a.nterested in a Roseville location.
