Most of the remainder of the landscape
plan coincided with the original proposal. They are going to
make a revision, and resubmit for City staff approval.
5. Cyrus, 631-0056
Dale and Norma Cyrus live at 2181 Hamline Avenue North, which
is a single family lot on the west side of Hamline
immediately north of the gas station at the northwest corner
of B and Hamline. A portion of their existing driveway is
contiguous to their south property line. They propose to
build a new garage, replacing the one they have, which would
conform to the required setbacks (five feet from the south
property line).
In answer to an inquiry, we noted although partions of the
driveway ar not conforming, the garage can be replaced
without variance.
6. Hahn. 645-339-385Q
Gearge Hahn, from Sioux Falls, 5outh Dakota, was in to review
his revised proposal for the Ruan site. He presenked a
rvised perspctive o£ a propoed mote. structur, with
sixty-three rooms, prepared by an arckitectural studrt rom
Sioux Falls.
Staff acrd that th building looked vry inadquae, nd
appeared to rresnt the low quality approach xp.ained to
us by his rpresentativ from last wek. He showad us a sit
plan proposing his motel on the e$st side of the groprty, a
rsturant in the cnt@r, anc $ car wash and qa station on
the wsteriy ide of th site. No accss was indicated tc
Long Lake Roade S notd hat with the prsenc of th
mdian strip on County Road C, accss to all uss on thi
sit for west bound kraffic woulci be ia t,any Lak Road.
H proposs to build th motel, and dvlop the rnaindr of
the sitc la.or, whil Ruan conti.ntes ko operae the rmaining
site and struature Far a time. W suggestd that this woeld
not b an appropriat proeedure, and tha dividing off the
asterly par of th si.te Cfor th motl) makes the rmainder
far mor difficul to dvlop. Uing his words, it kcoms a
"tr,shy" s3.t.
We showed N9r. Hahn a dveloprnt plan prepard hv the Dllan
people, which w suggsec indicaes the ype and intensit
of devlomnt that would be workabl for his sit. He
talked about puttinq two motl on the site, an a rstauran
over a period of time. The site plan indicatd concrete
araund three sids af the motl, wi.h arass strip on he
wst side only.
