Plannin Of '
g fice Hours
July 23, 1986
•
Page 2
We related the proposed plans with those approved by the
Planning Commission and Council, emphasizing the need for the
greater detail of the berming and landscaping for the forty
foot strip across Cleveland Avenue from the residences near
the northerly portion of the site. They propose to add these
details.
Mr. Janisch noted that the roadway trees should be off the
boulevard, on the private property. They propose these trees
to be four to six inch Red Maples, planted fifty feet on
center. This would produce an immediate asesthetic imgact of
some magnitude.
We discused the trails location, expressing some concern
regarding the ability to police the trails by the public
and/or the public and the Police Depatment, inasmuch as a
substantial portion of the trails are not contiguous to a
public right-of-way. The trails will be six feet wde, and
designed primarily for hikers ad runner. Dave noted the
importance of connecting the trail system to the public
street system at certain points.
Overall, the plans looked very good. They will be reviewed
ad revis@dr and brought back for review by City staff.
4. Franke, 636-6400
Sill Franke was in ith Rick Bakr ta discuss tentative plans
for th possible redevelopment of the Chandler,Wilbur Burial
Valt sie, and proprtis contiguous t the south on th
east side of Hamlire Avenue. He showe us a dawing
indicting two office bildigs orintd to Hamlin Avehue.
I suggsted replacement of the Chandlrlwilbur industrial
site with an offic buildinq would constiture a positive
improvement, although the high of th stzuctur may be a
problem considring th c4ntiguous rsidential ar o the
east.
we rviewd th Cauncil's policy rgarding ed@velopmenk,
Mr, Frank noted he had discussed some possible tax iccremnt
potntil with Cxa.ig Waldron. Q efinitiv acion is
proposed at this t.
Mr. Frank also reviwEd their proposed landscape plan for
the Corpprate Center site at the northwest corner of C and
Long a Road. There hve been slight rvisions in the foot-
print of the building, which cQnstituts considrable
improvement inasmuch as it llows for better pdestri$n
crculaton, and creaton of gtio areas in t se of th
budinq at the southwest corner of the site.
We compard the new ladscape plan with the oe previously
approved by the Planning Commission and Council, noting som
dif£erences. We are particularly conce%ned that th low
foundation planting in the original plan be followed through
on the inal plan. This is not serious, but we feel will be
