The Children's Home
Society day-care program now accommodates ninety children.
The Lake Owasso site will be left with the continuing long-
range lease with Group W. He also noted that Little Canada
is opposed to the use of the Capitol View School as a County
Center in that there is a December 22 meeting of the County
Board, at which time this issue will be discussed. He noted
further that he would keep the City informed as the situation
evolves.
5. Hurd, 825-6666
Bob Hurd has a string of five "Automax" stores in the
Metropolitan Area which are similar to Midas Muffler. Each
requires six bays with about 4,000 square feet, with parking
for fifteen to eighteen cars. He is looking f or appropriate
sites in the northeast suburbs, including Roseville.
We discussed possible locations in accordance with the City's
Comprehensive Plan, noting the difficulties of achieving such
sites in areas where he would like to be (close to Rosedale).
6. Brody, 636-4468
Norm Brody was in with George Applebaum noting the pending
sales of school sites for District 623 in Roseville. He
talked about the possibilities of swaping the Corpus Christi
site for the Fairview School site, and then redeveloping
commercial facilities on the Corpus Christi site at the
southeast corner of County Road B and Fairview.
I suggested that any anticipation of commercial zoning in
that area would likely meet with considerable difficulty, and
in view of the existing development (primarily single family)
in the immediate area would be likely construed a"spot"
zoning.
7. Maietta, 636-9000
Don Maietta and Greg Hawkins from Roseville's Mer.rill Lynch
office were in to talk about the access condition for the
offices they are remodeling at 1781 County Road B. They
inquired as to the possibility of full turning movements
opposite the north/south driveway on the east side of the
property. I suggested they discuss it with the new Ramsey
County Traffic Engineer.
I reviewed the problems concerning the possibility of
achieving this access and some of its assets and liabilities.
I noted that both County and City approval would be required.
