Erickson, 484-0368
Jerry Erickson lives at 1201 Josephine Road, and proposes to
add an addition to tre east side of this house which exists
on the property. The orginial A-frame home was constructed
in 1975, with an addition in 1979.
The current proposal appears appropriate, expanding the
house to the east but without reducing the setback to the
lake side. This is a very small, shallo lot and the set-
backs on the lake shore are like 16 feet verszs the 75 feet
normally required. In this case, a side yard variance will
be necessary and appropriate, followed by a shoreline
ordinance review.
We discussed plan requirements and procedures.
8. Brannon, 574-0192
Mr. and Mrs. Brannon were in to review possible locations
for a pylon sign for thea.r new car wash and office building
north of Larpenteur Avenue, easterly af Hamline. The
building is nearing completion and they propose to put a
sign off Larpenteur. The ordinance requires a thirty foot
setback, and Iuggested the sign could be located in the
triangular area ahead of diagnally parked cars on the east
side of the site.
I suggested that inasmuch as this site was planned from
"scratch" (the old building having been torn down), there is
no justification for now requesting a sign variance. It
appears, from examintion of the site glan, the sign needs
can be accommodated wzthout a variance.
9. Risch, 636-6400
Ron Risch, attorney, was in to review the City's concerns
relating to the Special Use Permit recently denied tc Jim
Trapp for the new and used garbage truck agency operation at
the Clean-Co site. I reviewed the whole frustrating procss,
going back sme fourteen yers o the original approvals
and the various conditions unrnet relating thereto. I noted
the City's need and desire to have proposed by the applicant
a.ist of conditions to be accomplished mitigating previous
lack of performance, and a mekhod of financial guarantee for
performance. Mr. Risch understood our concerns, and may be
back to us with possible solutions.
