Iuggested they hire someone to prepare a
site plan for early staff consideration. I am pleased that
these owners propose to tear down the old building which
would be very difficult to make work well for any good
reuse, because its location prevents eficient parking area
development.
4. Scott, 623-0153
Mike Sctt, attorney, was in with Robert Larson and Chris
Galle, developrs who are laoking for development possi-
bilities in Roseville, particularty for reail development.
I reviewed the Comprehensive Plan and Tax Increment Plan,
suggesting potential sites. Craig Waldron reviewed economic
development policy and potental.
5. Matthews, 483-3233
Mark Mattews was in with Mary Vidas t discuss landscape
plans for the development of t parking area on the Group W
site. They showed us a rather minimal plan and I sugested
that, based on our previous conversations, they were going
to do the mor elaborate plan reviewed prior to th Planing
Commision and Cncil meetings. This was on the supposi-
tion tha the drainag cauld b hanled by the construction
of a swaTe to the souhast corr of the site, which was
approved b the City.
I then riewed the mr elaboxae plan, suggesting that it
be implemented by the preparation of a topographical grading
plan indicating the lncation, high af the bexms, aid the
planting. T sugqested the berm be thre eet high, and that
the numrous fir trees indicated sould be planted at four
feet high. I suggsted he flowering crs ould be reduced
by appxoximately one-third, inasmuch as it is the coniferous
planting which will be the most ffective for screening
purposes. They will reurn with a revid pla for staff
review.
6, Hampton Inns, 71-6395
Jams Brtlett, Dave Phillips, ad Mike Kline, the latter
being architects at 391-3018, were in. They are interested
in locating Hamgton Znn's franchises and are reviewing
gotential iocations in Roseville.
I emphasized the straegic advantages of the Ruan ste, and
showed tem the previously prepared Dillon Inn proposal. I
discussd other options for location, rvieing the positive
and negativ features. I ncouraged them to pursue a Rose-
ville location, emphasizing the othr ancillary qualities of
the community. They will cor.tinue to ivestigate and get
back to us in the near futur.
