Waldron <br />Rick Jopke'�� <br />Summary of August 23, 1988 meeting with Regional <br />Transit �oard Staff. <br />I met with Katie Turnbull and Randy Rosvold from the Regional <br />Transit Board on August 23, 19�8. Also attending the meeting <br />wer� eob Matson, and Steve Gatlund. At this meetirag, tY�e <br />Regional Transit Board Staff summarized thei� efforts to prc�vide <br />�ddi�ional locaY transit service in Roseville. The Region�I <br />Transit Boarc� has r�eceived some project demonstratiion funds from <br />�he s�ate which would func� an IS month �iemonstration proj�c� in <br />Roseyille. The Regional Trar,sit Bc�ard has currently authorized <br />th�e issuar�ce of reque�ts for propo�als for a service provider to <br />provide local servz�e fa�using on Ros�edaleo Trie Reqional, <br />Transit Beard is propasing to add fou�r x�outes whi�h �rould be <br />serviced by twenty pa�sen�er vehicles at �airl�r hig� fr�quenci�s. <br />Th� four routes would inc�uci� a rout.e fror� ,horedi+ew down <br />Leximgton Avenue to�Jos�phine Road� Hamline Avenue Coun�ky Road �2 <br />to R�seciale which would loop thru Loehmanns' �laza. Anotk�er <br />xou�e would go from Li�tle Canada to Ros2c�ale along County Road <br />C. A third rout� �rould gfl do�rn �ounty � tQ Rice Street and run <br />by �the L�.brary, Taxget and Har �arr The fou�rth route woulc� <br />connect Laud�rdale to Ros�:eiale. <br />T'he Regional Trar�sit �oard wo��.d antacipate a ridership �f 8-10 <br />pass�ngers p�r bus, The base adult fare would be .64. The <br />R�egi�nal. Transit Board is discussing whe�h�r ox� nat �a lo�er the <br />base far�. , <br />The Regional �ransit <br />�oute� k�y Chris�mas <br />�roc�ss. They wauld <br />to discuss ways of <br />servic�. <br />Boa�d goal is to implement �s man� as these <br />tim� but that �rould be s�b j�ct to th� ��'P <br />anticipate meetinq with the ci�y in October <br />eff�ctively marketing thi� r��w transit <br />Rec�ional Trans�t Board statistics indicate that there ar� 1000 <br />peopl� per w��kday us�.ng transit via Rosedale and 1200 people p�r <br />Saturday using tr�ansit via Rosedale, <br />KatiP Turnbull also autlined how an existing service �coulct be <br />used to integrate into a light rail transit system in the fu�ure <br />by fo�u�ing z�n m�jor li�Y�t rail tranist stations. <br />�ob Matson stated the desire to obtain maps and summary materials <br />to present to the City Council at future work sessions. <br />The Regional Transit Support �t�ff agre�d to provide those to the <br />
