Waldron
SUBJECT: Conceptual Stage Review: Draft Truth in Housing
Program
l. Based on the concern that o f S the eCit housinay st ck usthe
regarding the reservation Y
Planning Commission has reviewed a number of options
rlating to this important, City wide priority.
2. After substantial review, the Planning Commission decided to
review the truth in housing inspection approach as one
alternative. Basically, truth in housing involves the use
of existing, certified inspectors, to analyze a home before
it can be sold. The subsequent report points out any
problems that the buyer should be aware of before a
purchase would occur. The owner is not recuired to make any
repairs subsequent ta the completed inspection.
3. We have attached a copy of the program that could be
utilized in Roseville. This program is still in its
conceptual stage thus, would you please review this
particular approach, and let ua whether ituisalproqramithat
be workable withir the City an
could be supported by the City Council.
