ZONINGNOTIFICATIONTASKFORCEREPORT <br />Attachment#1 <br />Section9ofthe/ƚƒƒźƭƭźƚƓ͸ƭAdoptedandRecommendedPolicies&Strategies <br />AdoptedbytheCommunityEngagementCommissionunanimouslyonNovember13,2014 <br />9)ImprovetheNotificationProcess <br />9.1Policy:Thecityshouldexpandthenotificationareaandmethodsforinformingresidentsand <br />businesses,includingleasedbusinesses,ofdevelopmentsthathavegreaterimpactand/orinvolveissues <br />. <br />ofprobableconcerntothebroadercommunity <br />We recommend the City: <br />9.1.a:TheCouncilshouldformajointtaskforceofCommunityEngagementandPlanning <br />Commissioners,plusatlargemembers,toassessthesenotificationrecommendationsand <br />prepareajointplanforbothCommissionsandforCouncilapproval.Staffassistanceshallbe <br />providedbythePlanningDepartment. <br />ThespecificTaskForceStrateicRecommendationsunder9.1aresuggestedfor <br />considerationbythisjointtaskforceasastartingpointintheirdeliberations.Forpurposes <br />ofreferenceonlytheseTaskForceRecommendationsareincludedinAttachmentA. <br />9.1.b:Requirenotificationforzoningproposalsbeprovidedtoanyestablished <br />neighborhoodorganizationanypartofwhichfallswithin500feetoftheproposalandtoall <br />residentsandbusinessesoperatingwithin1500feetoftheproposalandsolicittheirinput. <br />Notethatbusinessesoperatingincludesnotonlythepropertyownerbutthebusiness <br />leasingsaidproperty.Highwayandfreewayrightsofwayshallnotbeincludedinthe <br />measuredradiusandthecitywillliberallyinterpretthisnoticecriteria. <br />Cohost(withtheproper)informalpubliccommunicationsmeetingsinthecommunity <br />a) <br />todisplayrenderings,drawingsandmapsoftheproposalandsetasidetimetorespond <br />toƩĻƭźķĻƓƷƭ͸questionsandconcerns.Theseshouldincludesiteplans,landscapingplans, <br />lightingplanswithoffsiteimpactsshown,andinthecaseofbuildingshigherthan35 <br />feet,sitecrosssectiondrawingsshowingtherelationshipoftheproposedbuildingsto <br />existingadjacentbuildings. <br />Provideadministrativeandcommunicationssupportsfortheabovementioned <br />b) <br />informationmeetings,suchasmaintaininganattendancelistandtakingnotes; <br />providinginformationontheproposedschedule,futurepublicmeetings,andreview <br />anddecisionprocesses;andinformingthepubliconhowtoaccessstaffreportsand <br />otherinformationregardingtheproposal. <br />2 <br /> <br />
