So why is it that they do not vote for someone they do <br />trust? That is �xactly what vofiing is for! In the U.S., people can �ote for fiheir own <br />government, so people should believe fihat even if they did not vote for a given <br />candidate, a lot o�f people did, and that is at least worfih samething. Voting represents all <br />Americans and how they want the country to work. <br />One solufiion to increase the voter turnout is to gefi kids mare involved in voting, <br />so that they will wanf fio do ifi when they are ofder. F'or example, when I was in <br />elementary school, we voted for fih� presid�nfi we thought should hold office. Ifi is true <br />that fihe votes did not count in the larger election since we were under fihe age af � 8, bufi <br />it did introduce us -- and it could introduce other kids -- to the idea of vofiing. I thought it <br />was fun, and so did others in my class. I especially liked when they called out the <br />winner. It ended up being the person i voted for! Schools, whether elementary-leve(, <br />middle, ar high schoals coufd vote, both for fun and fio learn about it, every election day. <br />That way everyone under 18 would get used to voting and would be more fikely to da it <br />when they get ofd enough. I know'#hat because of my experience in elemenfary school, <br />I sure will! � <br />One other way to get peopie to vote is to make Election Day a federal hofiday. <br />That way, less people would haue to wark fihat day, increasing the time people have <br />available to vote. Bernie Sanders, a democrat who is currently in the 2016 presidential <br />race, has introduced a propasal that would amend the U.S. code fo include Federal <br />Elec�ion Day. It would be the Tuesday after #he first Monday in Navember in each <br />
