EXTRACT OF' MINUTES OF MEE�T'YNG QF THE <br />VARIANC� BQARD QF THE CITY QF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to d�ae ca11 and notice there�f, a regular meeting of the Variance Board of the <br />City of Roseville, County o#` Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 4`" day of September 2013, at <br />5:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: Chair Boguszewski, and Members Cunning�ta�n <br />and Murphy� <br />and none was absent. <br />Variance Board Member Murphy introduced the following resoiution and moved its <br />adoptioa�: <br />VB RESOLUTI�N NU. 9$ <br />A RES(ILUTIQN APPROVING A VARZANCE TO �1011.12G1 <br />(�`ELECOMMUNICATIO�i TOWER FACILIT�ES) OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />AT 2660 CIVIC CENTER DRIVE {FF13-011} <br />WHEREAS, AT&T, in conjunction with City of 1Zoseville, owner of the property at 2660 <br />Civic C�r�ter Drive, has requested a v,�rttA�vcE to City Code �1011.12G1 to allow� the <br />construction of a telecon�mt�r�ication support �uildin�; larger than the 200-square-foot maximum <br />on a portion of che subject property; anc� <br />WHEREAS, the portio� Qf 2660 Civic Center Drive subjeet to the variance apprc�val is <br />legally described as set forth in Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed suppart building would be 322 sc�t�are feet in area; and <br />WHEREAS, City Code § 1�Q9.04 (Variances) establishes the purpose of a va,R1AN�� is <br />"ta permit adjustrnent to the zoning regulations where there are practical difficul�ies apptying to a <br />parcel of land or building that prevent the property from being used tQ the exrent intended by the <br />zoning;'" and <br />WHER.EAS, the Variance Board has made the following findings: <br />The practical difficulty stenns from the fact that the existing size limit for <br />telecommunication support buildings, a limit codified for absolete wireless <br />telecommur�ieatian eyuipment, d�es not account for th� cuzrent state of the <br />technology; <br />b. Th� proposed telecommunicatiar� support buildin� is consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan ir� that it advances the goals reiated ta providing for <br />techr�ological infrastructure that gives Roseville a competitive advanta�e; <br />c, The proposal is cansistent with the intent of the zoning ordinances because s�ch <br />te�ecorn�unication suppart buildings are express�y provided for, alth�ou�h the size <br />Page I of 3 <br />
