<br />Brokke went over details on the renewal funding and expenses. There were a total of 77 projects 52 <br />and this was the largest construction project for the city. The projects are 95% complete and the 53 <br />majority of the work should be done in 2016. Brokke reviewed the original budget, award 54 <br />amount, current spending and the difference. The total amount of funds not spent is $435,464 55 <br />under budget. It was noted the ASU estimate of added construction costs due to the litigation was 56 <br />12%. 57 <br /> 58 <br />Becker-Finn suggested adding handicapped push button access to the new park buildings, if there 59 <br />is funding available. Brokke noted for the new playgrounds, the Community Builds have been 60 <br />very well received and plans are to incorporate them into future playground projects. Brokke 61 <br />thanked the Commission, the Community, the City Council and Staff for all the support on the 62 <br />park renewal projects. Brokke said Jeff Evenson, park superintendent and staff lead on the project 63 <br />did a great job of managing the program and projects. 64 <br /> 65 <br />The Natural Resource program will be continuing in 2016. O’Brien said there were comments on 66 <br />nextdoor.com regarding the resource program in Materion Park. Some neighbors were concerned 67 <br />about the changes taken place. Other neighbors were able to respond and explain the changes 68 <br />were for the benefit of the park. It was good to have their involvement. Brokke said Stantec, the 69 <br />Natural Resource contractor, has received around $300,000 in grants funding so far. 70 <br /> 71 <br />Stoner commented that the revenues listed for the new park building rentals was very good and 72 <br />over original estimates. 73 <br /> 74 <br />Doneen said he would like to see the city partner with the School District on the SW Roseville 75 <br />area. 76 <br /> 77 <br />Stoner requested that the Commission be made aware of future volunteer opportunities with 78 <br />natural resource projects and community playground builds. 79 <br /> 80 <br />7. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR 81 <br />After discussion, Holt made a motion to elect Terrance Newby chair, second by Gelbach. 82 <br />Motion carried unanimously. Holt also made a motion to elect Gelbach as Vice Chair, 83 <br />second by Doneen. Motion carried unanimously. Commissioners thanked Stoner for serving as 84 <br />chair for the last year. OTHER 95 <br />Becker-Finn informed the Commission there is a petition being circulated by residents for adding 96 <br />a sidewalk on Victoria Street, between County Roads C and D. Plans are to present it to the City 97 <br />Council in March. 98 <br /> 99 <br />Stoner asked about the acquisition of the land on Marion Street. Brokke said it will be discussed 100 <br />by the City Council this Monday, March 7. 101
