<br />Planning Commission Regular Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes – Wednesday, April 6, 2016 – 6:30 p.m. <br />1. Call to Order <br />1 <br />Chair Michael Boguszewski called to order the regular meeting of the Planning Commission <br />2 <br />meeting at approximately6:30 p.m. and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning <br />3 <br />Commission. <br />4 <br />2. Roll Call <br />5 <br />At the request of Chair Boguszewski, Senior Planner Bryan Lloyd called the Roll. <br />6 <br />Members Present: <br /> Chair Michael Boguszewski; Vice Chair Shannon Cunningham; and <br />7 <br />Commissioners James Daire, Robert Murphy, Chuck Gitzen, James Bull, <br />8 <br />and Newly-appointed Commissioner Julie Kimble <br />9 <br />Staff Present: <br /> Interim Community Development Director Kari Collins and Senior <br />10 <br />Planner Bryan Lloyd <br />11 <br />3. Organizational Business <br />12 <br />a. Swear in New Member: Julie Kimble <br />13 <br />Chair Boguszewski administered the Oath of Office to new Commissioner Julie Kimble, <br />14 <br />and welcomed her to the Planning Commission. <br />15 <br />b. Elect Planning Commission Chair and Vice Chair <br />16 <br />MOTION <br />17 <br />After confirming that Chair Boguszewski was willing to stand as Chair, Member <br />18 <br />Daire moved, seconded by Member Cunningham to reappoint Member <br />19 <br />Boguszewski as the Chair of the Planning Commission. <br />20 <br />Ayes: 7 <br />21 <br />Nays: 0 <br />22 <br />Motion carried. <br />23 <br />After confirming that Vice Chair Cunningham was willing to stand as Vice Chair, <br />24 <br />Member Murphy moved, seconded by Member Bull to reappoint Member <br />25 <br />Cunningham as the Vice Chair. <br />26 <br />Ayes: 7 <br />27 <br />Nays: 0 <br />28 <br />Motion carried. <br />29 <br />c. Appoint Variance Board Members <br />30 <br />Chair Boguszewski sought interest in members serving on the Variance Board, with <br />31 <br />Members Gitzen, Daire and Murphy expressing interest in continuing to serve. Chair <br />32 <br />Boguszewski stated that, since this was the last year of his term as a Planning <br />33 <br />Commissioner, he suggested another commissioner to serve as an alternate to the <br />34 <br />board. <br />35 <br />MOTION <br />36 <br />Member Cunningham moved, seconded by Member Boguszewski to reappoint <br />37 <br />Members Gitzen, Daire and Murphy to serve as Variance Board Members. <br />38 <br />Ms. Collins noted that staff would present the Variance Board appointees to the City <br />39 <br />Council for their approval, and Variance Board members would elect their officers at their <br />40 <br />next meeting. <br />41 <br />Ayes: 7 <br />42 <br />Nays: 0 <br />43 <br />Motion carried. <br />44 <br /> <br />
