REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: May 23, 2016 <br /> Item No.: 8.f <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Amendment to Election Services Agreement with Ramsey County <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br /> <br />2 <br />In 2012, the City Council approved a contract to have Ramsey County administer elections for the <br />3 <br />City of Roseville. The contract is up for renewal for the next four-year cycle. <br />4 <br />PO <br />OLICY BJECTIVE <br />5 <br />Ensure elections are administered consistently, fairly and accurately across Ramsey County and that <br />6 <br />Roseville residents have the best voting experience while minimizing financial burden on taxpayers. <br />7 <br />FI <br />INANCIAL MPACTS <br />8 <br />The proposed contract for Ramsey County to administer the elections for 2017-2018 is $132,464. <br />9 <br />This is an approximate 23% increase from 2013-2014. The increase reflects, in part, the increase in <br />10 <br />minimum wage. <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br />The contract also adds that Roseville will pay portion of costs applicable to any <br />13 <br />presidential primary in 2020 authorized by the legislature.
