<br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 18, 2016 <br /> <br />Commissioners: <br /> Chair Wayne Groff, Molli Slade, Nicole Dailey, and Edward Johnson <br />Youth Commissioners: <br /> Gabriel Cederberg, Elizabeth Hansel <br />Commissioners Absent: <br />Lisa Carey and Lauren Peterson <br />Staff Present: <br /> Carolyn Curti <br /> <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair Groff <br />requested roll call. <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated there were openings on the Human Rights Commission and the Community <br />Engagement Commission and encouraged residents to get involved. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Johnson seconded a motion to approve the <br />agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Swearing in Youth Commissioner <br />Chair Groff swore in new Human Rights Youth Commissioner Elizabeth Hansel. <br /> <br />Approve Minutes of April Meetings <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Dailey seconded a motion to approve the <br />April 20 2016 meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda <br /> <br />There being no one wishing to address the Commission of items not on the agenda, Chair Groff <br />moved to the next agenda item. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br /> <br />a.Rose Parade <br />Chair Groff stated the Commission had prepared letters last year that read Human Rights on one <br />side and Roseville on the other. Each member of the Commission could hold a letter and flip it. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti stated she would purchase candy for the Commission to distribute. <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated he had contacted the Karen Organization and asked Ms. Curti to follow up <br />with them. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade asked if Youth Commission Hansel would talk to the Human Rights group <br />at the High School and see if they would join the HRC in the parade. <br /> <br /> <br />
