Ms. Curti stated she would talk to the Parks and Rec Department and have them find the Human <br />Rights banner as well. <br /> <br /> <br />b.HRC Award <br />Chair Groff stated to have a meaningful HRC award they would need to advertise it and promote <br />it within other Commissions and organizations. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti stated the Commission could promote this in the Review. <br /> <br />Chair Groff suggested everyone review this for discussion at the next Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti stated last year the Commission had a member aggressively pursue nominations in the <br />community. She would put Commissioner Dailey in touch with past Commissioners to find out <br />what they had done. <br /> <br />Chair Groff suggested all members of the Commission encourage people to make nominations <br />for this award over the next month. <br /> <br /> <br />c.Forward into Light <br />Ms. Curti stated the Ramsey County Library and the Shoreview Human Rights Commission <br />would be hosting Vote for Women: A film Festival on August 18 at the Roseville Library. There <br />would be two short films about ratifying the Nineteenth Amendment and Ramsey County <br />Commissioner Mary Jo McGuire would be the speaker. The Commission would continue to <br />promote the event. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br /> <br />a.Election Chair and Vice Chair <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade nominated Chair Groff for the position of Chair. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Dailey to nominated <br />current Chair, Wayne Groff, for the position of Chair of the Human Rights Commission. <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Chair Groff asked for nominations for Vice Chair. <br /> <br />Chair Groff made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Dailey to nominate Commissioner <br />Slade to serve as Vice Chair of the Human Rights Commission. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Ethics Commission Representative <br />Ms. Curti explained the City has decided to change the Ethics Commission from a standing <br />Commission to a Commission that would meet when needed and the members would be one <br />member from each Commission. The Ethics Commission would have one organizational meeting <br />per year and meet as needed after that. The HRC is asked to appoint a representative to serve on <br />the Ethics Commission. <br /> <br />
