The Naturalization Ceremony had 26 new citizens from 12 countries. He <br />233 <br />stated the Commission had received an email from a resident about an issue he was concerned <br />234 <br />about. He had met with the resident and let him know there was not much the Human Rights <br />235 <br />Commission could do in this particular situation because it was a police issue. He had <br />236 <br />recommended the resident discuss the issue with the police or the City Council. <br />237 <br />238 <br />Youth Commissioner Report <br />239 <br />240 <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg stated the Summer Book Read list had not finalized.Theirnext <br />241 <br />meeting was in late May. He asked if he could provide choices for the Commission to consider <br />242 <br />prior to the next meeting because he had planned on the discussions being in June. The list from <br />243 <br />last year had contained three possible titles pertaining to human rights. <br />244 <br />245 <br />Commissioner Christiansen moved seconded by Commissioner Slade to have Youth <br />246 <br />Commissioner Cederberg identify a book and establish dates for the summer book read <br />247 <br />program. <br />248 <br />249 <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg asked if there would be funding for refreshments for the <br />250 <br />discussion dates. <br />251 <br />252 <br />Chair Groff stated the Commission would determine this at their May meeting. <br />253 <br />254 <br />Ms. Curti stated she would have someone assist with the posters and the City would also do a <br />255 <br />press release and other promotions to promote the event. <br />256 <br />257 <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />258 <br />259 <br />Staff Report <br />260 <br />261 <br />a.Finance Updateand Discussion <br />262 <br />263 <br />Ms. Curti reviewed the HRC budget and budgeted expenditures.
