June 15, 22016 <br />Item 3 <br />Approve Minutes <br />Human Rights Commission <br />1 <br />Meeting Minutes <br />2 <br />DRAFT MAY 18, 2016 - DRAFT <br />3 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />5 <br />Commissioners: <br /> Chair Wayne Groff, Molli Slade, Nicole Dailey, and Edward Johnson <br />6 <br />Youth Commissioners: <br /> Gabriel Cederberg, Elizabeth Hansel <br />7 <br />Commissioners Absent: <br />Lisa Carey and Lauren Peterson <br />8 <br />Staff Present: <br /> Carolyn Curti <br />9 <br /> <br />10 <br />Call to Order/Roll Call <br />11 <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair Groff <br />12 <br />requested roll call. <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br />Chair Groff stated there were openings on the Human Rights Commission and the Community <br />15 <br />Engagement Commission and encouraged residents to get involved. <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br />Approve Agenda <br /> <br />18 <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Johnson seconded a motion to approve the <br />19 <br />agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br />Swearing in Youth Commissioner <br />22 <br />Chair Groff swore in new Human Rights Youth Commissioner Elizabeth Hansel. <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br />Approve Minutes of April Meetings <br /> <br />25 <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Dailey seconded a motion to approve the <br />26 <br />April 20 2016 meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously. <br />27 <br /> <br />28 <br />Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda <br /> <br />29 <br />There being no one wishing to address the Commission of items not on the agenda, Chair Groff <br />30 <br />moved to the next agenda item. <br />31 <br /> <br />32 <br />Old Business <br />33 <br /> <br />34 <br /> <br />a.Rose Parade <br />35 <br />Chair Groff stated the Commission had prepared letters last year that read Human Rights on one <br />36 <br />side and Roseville on the other. Each member of the Commission could hold a letter and flip it. <br />37 <br /> <br />38 <br />Ms. Curti stated she would purchase candy for the Commission to distribute. <br />39 <br /> <br />40 <br />Chair Groff stated he had contacted the Karen Organization and asked Ms. Curti to follow up <br />41 <br />with them. <br />42 <br /> <br />43 <br />Commissioner Slade asked if Youth Commission Hansel would talk to the Human Rights group <br />44 <br />at the High School and see if they would join the HRC in the parade. <br />45 <br /> <br />46 <br /> <br /> <br />
