He suggested the City <br />138 <br />organize discussions so that each Commission or group is not doing something different. He <br />139 <br />recommended putting together a working group with members from other Commissions and <br />140 <br />staff. <br />141 <br /> <br />142 <br />Chair Groff encouraged the City to move expediently because this is a topic that is something <br />143 <br />residents are concerned about now. He recommended panel members share personal experiences <br />144 <br />because people remember these more than statistics. <br />145 <br /> <br />146 <br />Commissioner Carey asked if the City was working on a project and what the next steps should <br />147 <br />be. <br />148 <br /> <br />149 <br />Mr. Trudgeon suggested forming a working group and request interested members from Staff, <br />150 <br />City Council, and other Commissions to join to organize a City event. He would be the point <br />151 <br />person for the working group. He asked what members of the HRC would like to volunteer to <br />152 <br />participate in the working group. <br />153 <br /> <br />154 <br />Commissioner Slade, Commissioner Peterson and Commissioner Carey volunteered to work <br />155 <br />with City Manager Trudgeon on forming a working group to organize a City event in response to <br />156 <br />recent events in Falcon Heights. <br />157 <br /> <br />158 <br /> <br />159 <br /> <br />160 <br />Chair Groff stated the HRC stood out in the parade and he would like to build on this for next <br />161 <br /> event. <br />162 <br /> <br />163 <br />Youth Commissioner Report <br />164 <br /> <br />165 <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg stated the book club meetings had gone well. He had received a <br />166 <br />grant for a soccer camp through his Church and there were 53 attendees at the event. <br />167 <br /> <br />168 <br />Staff Report <br />169 <br /> <br />170 <br />Mr. Trudgeon provided a draft for the Human Rights Award poster for the Commission to <br />171 <br />review. <br />172 <br /> <br />173 <br />Chair Groff stated he would forward the information to Commissioner Dailey.
