Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />December 9, 2015 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Carey asked if the Ceremony could be televised. <br /> <br />Ms. Collins stated she would look into this. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade stated it might be possible to have some of the High School students film <br />the event for their school programming. <br /> <br /> <br />e.Elections for 2016 Chair and Vice Chair <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated the Commission would not be electing a Chair and Vice Chair at this time. <br /> <br />Ms. Collins explained the City Manager had recommended holding the elections in the spring <br />since the terms for Commission members ran from March to March. This would allow for the <br />new Commissioners to be involved in the election of the Chair and Vice Chair positions. <br /> <br /> <br />Chair’s Report <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated the City of Crystal had also dropped their membership to the Minnesota <br />League of Human Resources due to the essay question they were promoting. <br /> <br /> <br />Youth Commissioner Report <br /> <br />There was no Youth Commissioner Report available. <br /> <br />Commissioner Christiansen asked if it would still be feasible to have the film screening on <br />Martin Luther King Day. <br /> <br />Ms. Collins stated due to the timing this might not be possible and she would communicate this <br />to the Shoreview Human Rights Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br />a.Finance Update and Discussion <br /> <br />Ms. Collins reviewed the budget including current expenditures and budgeted items. The <br />Commission would be sending $1293 back to the City Council for 2015. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade asked if an honorarium could be sent for the mental health dialogues. <br /> <br />Ms. Collins stated she would need an invoice prior to the end of the year. <br /> <br /> <br />
