Recognitions, Donations and Communications <br /> <br /> <br />a.Proclaim Sept. 23 Kiwanis Peanut Day <br />Mayor Roe read in full a proclamation declaring September 23, 2016, as Roseville <br />Golden K Kiwanis Peanut Day in the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />North Suburban Golden K Kiwanis Club Representative Philip Goodrich <br />Mr. Goodrich briefly summarized the work of Kiwanis that meets at the Roseville <br />Skating Center every Tuesday. He stated funds raised through fundraisers go to <br />the Keystone Food Shelf, Youth Leadership Training in Roseville Parks & Recre- <br />ation, Rose Parade, donation of dressers at Bridging, two scholarships annually, <br />Northeast Youth and Family Services, Gillette Children’s Hospital, and interna- <br />tionally through the Eliminate Program. Mr. Goodrich stated they do not sell <br />peanuts but reward people who donate with peanuts. <br /> <br />By unanimous consent and acclamation, the Council proclaimed September 23, <br />2016, as Roseville Golden K Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> <br />Mayor Roe presented the Proclamation to Mr. Goodrich and thanked the Golden <br />K Kiwanis for all they do for the community and support for those around the <br />world with their good works. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Proclaim Constitution Week <br />Mayor Roe read in full a proclamation declaring September 17 to 23, 2016, as <br />Constitution Week in the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Daughters of the American Revolution Representative Ms. Parker <br />Jennifer Parker, Regent of the Nathan Hale Chapter of St. Paul, stated they cele- <br />brated 120 years last year. She provided a brief history of the Daughters of the <br />American Revolution (DAR) that started in 1890 and focus on historical preserva- <br />tion, patriotism, and education. Ms. Parker stated they were excited to be asked to <br />create a display case outside the Chambers to commemorate Constitution Week. <br />She thanked Girl Scout Troop 56916 from Falcon Heights Elementary School for <br />their help in distributing a copy of the Bill of Rights, the Preamble to the Consti- <br />tution, and a quiz. She also thanked member Betty Wolfangle who is a Roseville <br />resident for her contributions to DAR and the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Mayor Roe concurred with the importance of Ms. Wolfangle’s contributions and a <br />round of applause was offered for her and Girl Scout Troop 56916. <br /> <br />Laliberte moved, Etten seconded, proclaiming September 17 to 23, 2016, as Con- <br />stitution Week in the City of Roseville. <br /> <br /> Roll Call <br /> <br />
