Movie Feature: “Monster U”149 <br />Parks and Recreation Fall Brochure will be delivered to homes starting August 6th150 <br />Discover Your Park (DYP) August 10th at Reservoir Woods151 <br />Discover Your Park (DYP) August 17th at Mapleview Park152 <br />Open League Registrations:153 <br />Adult Soccer League154 <br />Adult Fall Softball Leagues (Space is Limited)155 <br />Parks and Recreation Assistant Director, Anfang Reports: 156 <br />On August 22nd members of the MNRPA will be presenting the Commission with the 157 <br />2015 MNRPA – Award of Excellence for Volunteer Initiatives. 158 <br />7.OTHER159 <br />160 <br />8.TOUR OF ROSEVILLE’S SKATING CENTER’S ICE ARENA161 <br />Prior to the Commission leaving to tour the Roseville Skating Center’s Ice Arena Brokke162 <br />provided a brief background:163 <br />Roseville Skating Center has 3 separate parts:164 <br />1.Indoor Arena Center (1969) – Geothermal upgrade in 2008165 <br />2.Guidant John Rose MN OVAL (1993)166 <br />3.Banquet Facilities (1998)167 <br />There has been suspect heaving occurring with the concrete floor of the Skating Center 168 <br />Arena. Survey work began to assess/track the situation. Subsequent surveys confirmed 169 <br />that there was some lifting occurring in the concrete floor. As a result, an unplanned 170 <br />shutdown was necessary to remove the ice to assess the situation and address as needed. 171 <br />Keven Elm and Matt Johnson with Roseville Parks and Recreation worked diligently 172 <br />during this time to find ice available at other facilities for user groups. This ensured that 173 <br />the skaters who utilized the Roseville Skating Center Arena were affected as little as 174 <br />possible by the short-term closure. 175
