<br /> September 21, 2016 <br />Item 5.b <br />Community Conversation <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />City Manager Patrick Trudgeon is leading a committee to develop a community conversation to <br />discuss race. Members from several commissions, including the Human Rights Commission, <br />residents, staff and others have been meeting to work on plans. <br /> <br />The event is planned for Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Roseville Skating Center. <br /> <br />Initial plans are to start with a small panel discussion with persons providing their reaction and <br />thoughts to the Philando Castile shooting. The small panel discussion will be about 20 minutes. <br /> <br />The next component will be a presentation by the Roseville Police Department. This presentation <br />will last about 20 minutes <br /> <br />That would be followed by small group discussions amongst the people attending. The planning <br />committee is finalizing the questions/topics. <br /> <br />Following the discussion, groups will be asked to report to the larger group the results of the <br />conversations. From the conversations, the city and participants will identify the next steps to be <br />taken. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
