research of their own culture and history. These are just 2 of the many culture shows throughout the
year.
The big one that you might want to connect with is RAHS One World, a multicultural celebration that our
Cultural Liaison put work together on. I am going to CC Anthony, Carolyn, and MaiDer on this because
they would know more about RAHS One World celebration.
Here is a rough run down of cultural events as I know them:
December
Peb Haiv - Hmong Culture show written and directed by student club, drama, dancing, signing, ect
Africa Night - Celebrating different regions of Africa, fashion show, dinner, historical research, skit,
presentation on countries. Created by students and Anthony Anderson, our African American Liaison
February
Black History Month& Soul Food Dinner - Student led celebration and presentation of black history
and focusing on social justice. Skit, dance, music, historical research documentary. Anthony
Anderson, Sarah Nichols, and Shlynn Hayes

April
RAHS One World Multicultural Event - represents Karen, Latino, Nepali and many others.

May
Asian Cultural Show- Celebration of the diversity of Asian cultures. We appreciate your help.
At last night’s Human Rights Commission meeting someone raised the question the city hosting or
sponsoring a cultural show or festival. We realize the amount of work that it would take may be
more than we could take on. The commission asked that I check with the high school about any
festivals or celebrations that we could possibly collaborate on.
I remember hearing about the high school having a fashion show, or something along those lines.
Anyway, if the high school does such an event could you send me the contact information. The
commission may talk about ways we could collaborate.
