Hello to all of you!
First, let me apologize for how long this process is taking. And let me bring us up to speed.
Kathy reached out to me on behalf of the Roseville Human Rights Commission (and Wayne
and Sherry) on 8/24 to propose co-sponsoring programming around the video series: Race:
The Power of an Illusion. We would love to be involved in this programming.
The plan is to show all three parts of Race: The Power of Illusion and have guided discussions
after the showing. Performance rights for libraries for the series is $49.95 for the whole series.
We also need a really knowledgeable and skilled facilitator to guide the discussion. These
discussions can be challenging. I'd like to be able to offer the facilitator an honorarium--
perhaps $100-150?
I have reached out to the Diversity Coordinator at Ramsey County (who leads programming
for the county on this video series) but haven't been able to reach her--despite numerous tries.
Questions for you:
- I'd like to schedule this starting in January 2017. (I know we wanted to build on momentum,
and I apologize for the long delay.)
- Should we do the sessions on a monthly basis, or would it be best to do them closer together
to maintain momentum?
- We need to find a facilitator. I will keep looking and Wayne, you mentioned a couple of
possibilities as well?
What else am I missing?
Thank you all for your patience. The library would LOVE to partner with you on this
programming, so I very much appreciate your continued endeavors!
Carol
Carol Jackson | Library Manager
Ramsey County Library in Shoreview
4570 North Victoria Street
Shoreview, MN 55126
(651) 724-6090
cjackson@ramsey.lib.mn.us
www.rclreads.org
