A Proposal for the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Update for the City of Roseville <br />Jim Gromberg (WSB) <br /> <br />Economic Development Specialist <br /> Masters of Business Administration, St. Cloud State University, 1997 | <br />Education: <br />Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, St. Cloud State University, 1988 <br />Jim has over 25 years of experience in economic development including both redevelopment <br />projects and greenÞ eld developments. Most recently, Jim was the State of MinnesotaÕs <br />Business Development Representative for the Twin Cities metropolitan area, focusing on the <br />attraction of new businesses to the state and assisting businesses in expanding their current <br />locations. He also oversaw the data center tax incentive program that resulted in the creation <br />of over 600,000 square feet of data center space and capital expenditures of more than <br />$1.1 billion. Jim has also served as the Vice President for Business Banking for Landmark <br />Bank focusing primarily on SBA lending, the Business and Community Relations Manager <br />for Connexus Energy, City Manager for Isanti, and Economic Development Coordinator for <br />the City of Ramsey. Jim has also served as the President of the Economic Development <br />Association of Minnesota, President of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce, Mid-America <br />Economic Development Council Board of Directors, and is currently the Chairperson of the <br />Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation. <br />Selected Project Experience <br />As the Business Development Representative, Jim was successful in the attraction and <br />completion of new development projects that resulted in over $500 million in new capital <br />expenditures. Those projects included: <br /> <br /> CSIÕs new headquarters and production facility in the City of New Brighton resulting in the <br />creation of 125 new positions and the retention of over 190 positions. This facility was part <br />of the redevelopment of a brownÞ eld site. <br /> <br /> 70,000 square foot Toro Corporate Headquarters located in the City of Bloomington. <br /> <br /> 250,000 square foot Olympus Research and Development Facility in the City of Brooklyn <br />Park. <br /> <br /> The relocation of the POST Cereal division headquarters from New Jersey to the City of <br />Lakeville resulting in the retention and creation of over 300 positions. <br /> <br /> Relocation and construction of new Wurth-Adam headquarters and manufacturing facility <br />in the City of Brooklyn Park with an investment of $30 million and the creation of over 88 <br />new positions. <br /> <br /> ce facility <br />for Shutter yÕs new facility in the City of Shakopee. The project included the creation of 350 <br />new positions and the investment of over $30 million in capital expenditures. The project <br />was being considered for Þ ve other sites in the country. <br /> <br /> The 60,000-square foot expansion of the Polaris headquarters to the City of Plymouth with <br />the expenditure of over $22 million in capital expenditures and the creation of 100 new <br />positions. <br />10 <br /> <br />
