Regular Planning Commission Meeting
Minutes – Wednesday, December 7, 2016
Page 23
Ms. Major advised that WSB would work with city staff to research those contacts that
999
could serve as a resource.
1000
Discussion ensued regarding the current Roseville website and comprehensive plan
1001
section, now managed by GIS staff, and content changes and input directed to Ms.
1002
Collins and her staff; with the engagement process eventually being added after being
1003
further refined by the PC and determining how best to drive people to that page.
1004
Member Gitzen asked that WSB and city staff provide information to the PC as soon as
1005
possible even before the next meeting agenda if feasible, allowing sufficient time for their
1006
feedback.
1007
Chair Boguszewski stated that he saw a more frequent narrative stream back and forth
1008
with communication items and documents between WSB, city staff and the PC; and then
1009
whatever of that was readily available could be incorporated into each monthly PC
1010
agenda packet.
1011
CEC Commissioner Tomlinson, referencing the CEC meeting tomorrow night, asked
1012
how their edits and suggestions should come before the PC as part of the process.
1013
Ms. Collins advised that communication should go through the CEC staff liaison, City
1014
Manager Trudgeon.
1015
Chair Boguszewski assigned Ms. Major as the “hub,” with the PC and CEC the spokes;
1016
and when all were put together it became the wheel.
1017
In this instance, Ms. Collins clarified that feedback would be consolidated by staff.
1018
Chair Boguszewski noted that the primary leader for community engagement was the
1019
CEC.
1020
Ms. Major suggested each could reach out to her directly, but with multiple people
1021
editing the document, someone needed to serve as the repository and consolidate
1022
comments into one document.
1023
In accordance with Open Meeting laws, and also from a public realm perspective, Ms.
1024
Collins clarified that staff should serve as the initial contact (Community Development
1025
Director) to disseminate information as applicable.
1026
7.
