Human Rights Commission Meeting Minutes NOVEMBER 16, 2016 Commissioners: Chair Wayne Groff, Lisa Carey, Nicole Dailey, Molli Slade, Lauren Peterson Youth Commissioners: Elizabeth Hansel Commissioners Absent: Edward Johnson, John Eichenlaub and Youth Commissioner Gabriel Cederberg Staff Present: City Manager Pat Trudgeon Call to Order/Roll Call The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair Groff requested roll call. Approve Agenda Chair Groff stated the Commission is required to have their elections in April so Item 6.a. will be removed from the agenda. Mr. Trudgeon stated Commissioner Eichenlaub had requested the discussion on housing in Roseville and he is not in attendance and Item 6.b. could be moved to a future meeting. He stated any discussions the Commission had on housing would have to be focused on how this relates to Human Rights and equality in housing. Commissioner Carey moved and Commissioner Peterson seconded a motion to approve the agenda as amended. Motion passed unanimously. Approve Minutes of October 19 Meeting Chair Groff stated in line 63 change “lead” to “lean.” Youth Commissioner Hansel stated in line 216 change “LGBD” to “LGBT”. Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Dailey seconded a motion to approve the October 19, 2016 meeting minutes as amended. Motion passed unanimously. Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda There being no one wishing to address the Commission of items not on the agenda, Chair Groff moved to the next agenda item. Old Business a.Mental Health Forum Commissioner Dailey stated she had talked with Kay King, who puts on Gray Matters through NAMI. She does three presentations: depression, anxiety, and addiction. She usually starts with depression. The dates available would be January 19 or January 23. The Lexington Park Building is available for these dates and would hold 50 people.
