718
Member Heimerl asked if the latest guide for the Metropolitan Council provided
719
any updates relevant to this plan update.
720
721
Mr. Johnson advised that several guides were referenced specific to stormwater
722
issues; with Mr. Freihammer suggesting the plan update reference the "latest
723
version" rather than specifically dated updates or guides, allowing the plan to be
724
updated by reference as applicable.
725
726
Member Wozniak noted the desire to install remote readers on city facility water
727
meters, with Mr. Freihammer suggesting this goal would be the area to do that to
728
address the city monitoring its water usage.
729
730
Other Goals
731
Ms. Nestingen sought additional feedback from the PWETC on other potential
732
goals not addressed in these seven. Ms. Nestingen noted that sustainability was the
733
hot button topic with the last update process; while now it was `resiliency and
734
planning for future climate change."
735
IL
736
Member Wozniak noted he was also thinking about that and public health circles
737
and changes coming about as a result; and suggested addressing those or being
738
prepared for them as this plan moves forward. While it related somewhat to
739
sustainability, Member Wozniak questioned if it warranted its own separate goal.
740
741
Chair Cihacek opined that it already existed in each of these seven goals, and was
742
made clearer in Goal 3. Therefore, Chair Cihacek suggested that those elements
743
either be pulled out of the previous seven goals and made a separate goal, or
744
referenced as part of each goal already addressed. However, Chair Cihacek noted
745
the missing piece was how resiliency analysis or planning was Roseville specific.
746
As a next step for staff, Chair Cihacek suggested pinpointing specific steps in the
747
existing plan based on those trends, or state if they're already covered in goals and
748
gauge them accordingly.
749
750
At the request of Member Wozniak, Ms. Nestingen noted rainfall estimates, based
751
on the 2014 publication, while not addressing specific goals but alluding to them,
752
had resulted in design standards being updated accordingly.
753
754
Member Wozniak opined he would like to know more about resiliency discussions
755
that had been put forth and climate change items to add as a separate goal or
756
specifically referenced in the sustainability goal at a minimum.
757
758
Current and Potential Issues
759
Ms. Nestingen noted broad issues in the current 2013 Plan Issues Assessment.
760
761
Mr. Freihammer noted city staff would also provide updated issues from their
762
perspective: some old or ongoing from the previous plan, and some new for this
763
plan.
