<br />Minor arterials place emphasis on mobility within the
<br />metropolitan area. Minor arterials should connect to
<br />principal arterials, other minor arterials, and collector
<br />roadways, though limited connection to local roadways
<br />is acceptable. Minor arterials within Roseville have
<br />been further classified into A minor (reliever), A
<br />minor (augmentor), and B minor arterials. A minor
<br />(augmentor) arterials are found only within the
<br />I-494/694 beltway and are intended to serve medium to
<br />long trips where principal arterials do not exist. A minor
<br />(reliever) arterials are typically aligned roughly parallel
<br />to principal arterials and accommodate overflow traffic
<br />from congested principal arterials. A minor arterials are
<br />eligible for federal funding to help fund improvements.
