Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />February 15, 2017 –Minutes <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Announcements <br />Ms. Curti reviewed the upcoming education opportunities including a panel discussion on race: <br />“Ask a Black Man”, a community discussion on Inclusion and Policing for Residents and Guests <br />hosted by the City of Falcon Heights, a panel discussion on how to have fair housing for all our <br />community members, a presentation by J.B. Anderson called “Martin Luther King and Me; a <br />Personal Reminiscence of the Civil Rights Era”, the first talk in a new history series on the Asian <br />American Experience called “The Making of Asian America”, and the showing of “Equal Means <br />Equal”, the definitive documentary film on the status of women in America. <br /> <br />Commissioner Daily asked what steps would need to be taken to have the City make a statement <br />about the separation of immigration and police or if having discussions at the meeting would be <br />enough. <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated there is a process for putting together and recommending a proclamation to <br />the Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade stated this is one of the three areas the Imagine Roseville Committee is <br />working on. She stated she was speaking at the League of Women Voters on March 21 about the <br />language of mental health. <br /> <br />Future Agenda Items <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated they would follow-up on the items presented during the meeting. The March <br />meeting would be the last meeting for Commissioner Slade. <br /> <br />Ms. Curti stated the calendar and budget would be included in the March meeting. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />Commissioner Eichenlaub moved and Commissioner Dailey seconded a motion to adjourn. <br />Motion passed unanimously.
