Recent and upcoming events that Deal supervisesinclude the following: <br />Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance–This year’s dance was enjoyed by over 50 couples! <br />Kids Ice FishingContest <br />Arts at the OVAL <br />Dance Classes and Recital <br />Discover Your Parks(DYP) <br />Puppet Wagon <br />Adult Wellness (Yoga, Tap Dance, Fitness, Tai Chi Chi, Trips) <br />Music Ensemble Preschool Music Classes <br />Youth Fitness Boot Camps <br />Youth Afterschool Activities (Art, Science, Games, etc.) <br />Youth Summer Activities (Sports, Theater, Leadership, Field Trips, Art, etc.) <br />Dates and additional details for the programslisted abovecan be found in the Roseville Parks and <br />Recreation activity brochure. <br />Dealalsointroduced the new “Rec Connect”program that she created with Recreation Program Supervisor <br />Lake Johnson to target the Karen population in Roseville. The program will be available for kids ages 5-15, <br />at Tamarack Park, with a drop-in format for registration. <br />Johnson reviewedthe“Rec Connect” Program Planning Timelinethat was utilized to create the program. <br />Johnson and Deal met with other communities and cultural liaisons to developthe program. Once the <br />program layout is established there is potential to bring this type of drop-in programming to other parks in <br />the Roseville Community. <br />Deal presentedthe seasonal “Rec Connect” Summer Coordinator job opening posting. The interview <br />st <br />process for this position has not yet begun. The job will be posted on the City website through March 1 <br />.A <br />desired qualificationfor the potential candidate would be anEnglish-Karen bilingual speaker. <br />Brokke explained that this program was discussed with the City Counciland that thenowcity-owned 1716 <br />Marion Street property could also be utilized for the “Rec Connect” program. <br />STAFF REPORT <br />6. <br />Brokke introduced and showed avideo interviewingRoseville’s Park Superintendent,Jim Taylor,atthe <br />Natural Resource event on Martin Luther King Day. <br />Tamarack Park playground replacementlettershave beenmailed out toneighbors near the park. <br />Community meetingsto discuss the playground design processwill be held onthe following dates: <br />nd <br />Feb 22 <br />th <br />March 8 <br /> <br />
