Roseville Parks and Recreation <br />2016 Accomplishments <br />nd <br />1.Completed 22 year as Nationally Accredited Agency <br />2.Replaced 3 replacement playgrounds, utilizing community builds involving 120 <br />volunteers Mapleveiw Park, Upper Villa Park and Central Park Lexington <br />3.Initiated a Natural Resources Program Volunteer Stewardship effort that Hosted 12 <br />rd <br />Volunteer-supported Natural Resource Restoration projects (3 Saturday of the Month) <br />4.Finalized a deer management program with the goal to monitor and control Parks and <br />Recreation Commission effort <br />5.Worked in partnership with The Food Group to create a Community Orchard at the <br />Muriel Sahlin Arboretum <br />6.Managed six park buildings for Community use; <br />a.Buildings were occupied 5,354 hours, up from 1147 hours in 2015 (a 467% <br />increase) <br />b.Attendance during reserved times totaled 26,420, nearly 300% more than 2015. <br />This is not taking into consideration the foot traffic entering the buildings to use <br />the restrooms & drinking fountains or Parks & Recreation program participants <br />c.Park Building revenues increased 53% from 2015 to $65,922 <br />7.Initiated planning efforts for a southeast Roseville Youth Outreach program that will <br />target children living in the Marion Street & Brittany Apartments <br />8.Processed 4,486 online registrations <br />9.Involved 250 kids in non-traditional summer recreation programs: theater, arts, computer <br />science <br />10.Increased participation in the fall youth soccer program by 10%, serving 250 youngsters. <br />11.Pickleball continues to thrive; indoor, drop-in play increased 15% to 3,478 participants <br />a.exploring ways to meet demands and offer opportunities for pickleball <br />b.re-striped Evergreen Park Tennis Courts to accommodate pickleball <br />12.Built a butterfly garden at HANC including planters & stairway <br />13.Hosted Bee Pollinator friendly workshops and bee nest building program <br /> <br />
