Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,July 17,2017 <br /> Page 23 <br /> Press Gym Site <br /> Mayor Roe noted that this current 1.17 acre commercial site was identified as a <br /> prime designation for MDR and preferred by neighbors versus HDR designation. <br /> Councilmembers Willmus and McGehee suggested preference by the neighbors <br /> for single-family designation given the proximity to the park. <br /> Councilmember Etten noted business uses on other sides of the site. <br /> Without objection, Mayor Roe indicated that the council directed staff to include <br /> this in comprehensive plan discussions. <br /> Orchard Site <br /> Given current designation as LDR and preferences expressed by the neighbors <br /> with recent development proposals for HDR, Mayor Roe asked if this was an op- <br /> portunity for the city to re-designate this to MDR. <br /> Councilmember McGehee noted the neighborhood preference for the area to be <br /> designated as a city park and promises that it would be pursued. <br /> City Manager Trudgeon referenced past City Council discussions related to prop- <br /> erty acquisition in Closed Executive Session and information subsequently pro- <br /> vided last spring indicating a huge gap as acquisition numbers were discussed <br /> �. among parties. Mr. Trudgeon advised that staff continued to keep the lines of <br /> communication open, but after that last discussion had not actively pursued it un- <br /> less so directed by the body. <br /> Councilmember McGehee stated that she was not interested in changing designa- <br /> tion from LDR. <br /> Without objection, Mayor Roe indicated that the council directed staff to retain <br /> LDR for this site until something else came along; emphasizing that the neighbors <br /> were not interested in HDR designation for the site. <br /> d. Discussion Regarding the Cancellation of the Center Pointe Planned Unit <br /> Development(PUD) <br /> City Planner Thomas Paschke briefly highlighted the staff report and attachments, <br /> current limited permitted uses based on each building type in the B-4 Designation <br /> under PUD provisions at that time, with one remaining vacant parcel. Based on <br /> current interest in that parcel, Mr. Paschke advised that the proposed use would <br /> require an amendment to the existing PUD. In keeping with the current Of- <br /> fice/Business Park designation, subsequent to creation of the existing PUD, Mr. <br /> Paschke suggested the option for the city to cancel the existing PUD and refer to <br /> something more in keeping with the current designation under zoning ordinance <br /> and contractual control. In order to do so, Mr. Paschke advised that the city <br /> would need to create that Office/Business Park zoning designation and memorial- <br />
