COMPREHENSIVE PLAN –PARKS AND RECREATION SYSTEM MASTER <br />5. <br />PLAN REVIEW AND UPDATE <br />Review of Goal 1 was completed at the June 6, 2017 Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Meeting. <br />Goal 2Review <br />Commissioner Warzecha asked for clarification on Goal 2.4. Specifically, whattimes the <br />parks are open. Staff confirmed thattheparks in Roseville are open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. <br />daily(except Reservoir Woods, whichis open from dawn to dusk). <br />The Commission suggests no changes to Goal 2. <br />Goal 3Review <br />Staff suggested addingpotentiallanguage to Goal 3 that would provideconsideration for the <br />City to purchase land that becomes available,whenadjacent to existing parks. <br />The Commission discussedhow best to identify potential adjacent land. <br />The Commissionrecommended potentially addinga notein Section 3 to possiblyprioritize <br />the purchase of properties adjacent to current parkland. <br />Goal 4 <br />Chair Gelbach questioned the rolesof Public Works and Parks and Recreation in the Trails, <br />Pathways and Community Connections.Staff confirmed that it is a joint effort between <br />Public Works and Parks and Recreation. <br />The Commission suggested defining roles of PublicWorks and Parks and Recreation as it <br />applies to the Trails, Pathways and Community Connections to reduce confusion. <br />FOLLOW-UP TO CITY COUNCIL JOINT MEETING <br />6. <br />Commissioner Stoner suggested that this topic be listed again on the September 5, 2017 <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Agenda as threeCommissioners were not able to <br />attend the meeting tonight,and they may like to comment. <br />The Commission discussed the signing of Resolution No. 11422 –AResolution Declaring <br />the City of Roseville as a Pollinator-Friendly Community. <br />Commissioner Warzecha suggested addingdirectionsonhow to make your own bee habitats <br />to the City of Roseville Pollinator Page. <br />Commissioner Stoner suggestedadding that there is no minimum property sizerequiredfor a <br />beehive. <br />Commissioner Bole stated that allof the presenters did a very good jobat the Joint Meeting. <br /> <br />
