July 19, 2017 <br />Item6b. <br />Youth Commission Applicants <br />Background <br />The following commissioners were part of a subcommittee which was tasked with reviewing <br />and interviewing applicants for the youth commissioner vacancy. <br />Commissioners <br />Wayne Groff, Chelsea Holub, Lauren Peterson, Elizabeth Hansel, Nicole Dailey <br />The application period was open from May 25 - June 28, 2017. Flyers were sent to local schools <br />civicteachers, local youth activity groups, posted on our website and through other social <br />media channels, and information was included in our City News Update which is emailed to <br />roughly 900-1,000 individuals. <br />One application was received and the subcommittee interviewed the applicant on Monday, July <br />17 th. <br />Requested Action <br />The Commission will receive an update from the subcommittee regarding their <br />recommendation for appointing a youth applicant. <br />Action will be requested under New Business item 8b. <br /> <br />
