The Council would prefer the Commission would meet by themselves without 492 Councilmembers present. 493 494 Councilmember Laliberte stated their leadership was always intended to be temporary and 495 transitional in order to get things going with the new Commission. 496 497 Commissioner Djevi suggested having Ms. Olson lead the upcoming meetings. 498 499 500 recommendation that the Council representatives still lead the Commission meetings until they 501 vote on a Chair and Vice Chair. 502 503 Commissioner Groff moved and Commissioner Eichenlaub seconded to conduct the Chair and 504 Vice Chair elections in September, with elected members taking their seats in October. 505 506 Mayor Roe explained the nomination process. Generally, the floor is opened up for nominations 507 and usually the nominations come with seconds. They then vote on the nominees, and the one 508 with the most votes would take the seat. 509 510 Councilmember Laliberte stated by waiting to have a vote, they will be able to watch each other 511 work. 512 513 After a couple of Commission members stated they would not be at the September meeting, 514 Mayor Roe suggested they present nominations at one meeting and vote at the next. 515 516 Commissioner Groff and Commission Eichenlaub accepted an amendment to their motion, to 517 conduct the nominations at the September meeting, and vote on the nominations at the beginning 518 of the October meeting, with the newly elected officials taking their seats immediately. 519 520 Motion passed unanimously. 521 522 e. Imagine Roseville Report 523 524 Commissioner Holub provided a handout to the Commission, and reported at the last Imagine 525 Roseville Planning Committee meeting, a report was discussed regarding immigration, which 526 was discussed at the last Imagine Roseville Community meeting. This report will be presented to 527 the City Council in August. Since Imagine Roseville discussion topics fall within the scope of 528 the HRIE Commission, she suggested they submit a recommendation to the Council. This 529 recommendation would encourage the Council to read the report and schedule a time for further 530 discussion. 531 532 Commissioner Carey explained further their largest concern was they would do all the work 533 around this report, present it to the City Council, and they would do nothing with it. That is why 534 they propose to submit the recommendation that Commissioner Holub described. 535 536
