Roseville is in the process of updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan. TheRoseville <br />Commission is currently working to update the Parks & Recreation Goals and Policiesto <br />include in the updated ComprehensivePlan. <br />PlannedImprovements <br />b) <br />i)Woodview/Reservoir Woods DogPark <br />Master planning is under way for all off-leash dog parks in Ramsey County. Thefinal <br />community input meeting is October 4, 2017 at the New BrightonCommunity <br />Center. Specific plans for the dog parks will be created from input collected atthe <br />public meetings. The Commission brought up that there was a broken fencecovered <br />with an orange cone at the Woodview/Reservoir Woods Dog Park. Oyanagiindicated <br />that they would check on it. <br />ii) McCarrons Park –lighting andother <br />Commissioner Stoner brought up the extremely dark section of path atMcCarrons <br />Park. Specifically, the path that is located right next to the street. He believes thatthe <br />considerable dark areas may be a contributing factor in the eroding sense ofsecurity <br />in thearea. <br />Oyanagi responded that Ramsey County parks are not lit in order to not invitepeople <br />into the parks after dark. Ramsey County Chair Pederson suggested bringing thisto <br />the attention of Ramsey County Public Works to work in conjunction withRoseville <br />Public works on the issue. Oyanagi confirmed that the concern would be passedon. <br />iii) SouthEast RosevilleRevitalization <br />The Roseville City Council identified a parcel of land at 1716 Marion Street tocreate <br />a neighborhood park. Currently, Roseville is working through the planningprocess <br />for this site. Roseville anticipatesdeveloping the site in 2018. <br />Roseville staff discussed the new youth outreach program, Rec Connect. Thisnew <br />youth summer program was very successful and it is anticipated that it willcontinue <br />togrow. <br />Natural ResourcesRestoration/EAB <br />c) <br />Ramsey County was awarded a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources(MNDNR)– <br />Conservation Resource Legacy Grant in 2017. The Grant is being used to fund projectsin <br />parks with large expanses of land (20-80 acres). Potential projects at Lake Johannaand <br />McCarrons Park may be explored in 2018. <br />Chair Gelbach questioned what future invasives might potentially be a problemin <br />Roseville. <br />Ramsey County staff confirmed that they are looking at water invasives, such as,zebra <br />mussels. <br /> <br />
