Rice Creek and Battle Creek are the two current parks with Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)in <br />Ramsey County. The future approach towards EAB is that once identified at apark, <br />Ramsey County will look to remove and potentially replace (if appropriate) thosetrees. <br />The City of Roseville is considered fully infested with EAB. Roseville has nearly <br />2,000Ash Trees. All public trees in the City are tracked via the Davey Tree Keeper <br />database.Currently, Roseville has a combination approach of treatment, removal and <br />replacementto address EAB in the city. It is estimated that it would cost <br />approximately $2milliondollars to remove and replace all of the Ash Trees in <br />Roseville. <br />The City of Roseville has utilized a Natural Resource Stewardship program since2013. <br />Volunteers help to maintain natural resources throughout city parks. All the volunteersdo <br />greatwork! <br />CommunityEngagement <br />d) <br />The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners established a new Vision, Missionand <br />Goals to address racial disparities and concentrated areas of poverty throughoutthe <br />county. Every department is working to increasing their communityengagement, <br />especially in populations that have not typically been heard from in thepast. <br />Ramsey County Chair Pederson stated that one of the great things that Roseville doesis <br />get residents out to the parks. It is harder to garner feedback from users of theRamsey <br />County Parks as they are more spreadout. <br />The Commission discussed potentially combining groups to offer a Discover YourPark <br />(DYP) event at a Ramsey County Park located in Roseville next summer. <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN –PARKS AND RECREATION SYSTEMMASTER <br />5) <br />PLAN REVIEWUPDATE <br />Staff confirmed that they are planning to present the updated document, withthe <br />Commissions suggestions, to the consultant for incorporation into the ComprehensivePlan. <br />The Commission discussed Goal 1.2 and suggested to change 1.2 to include “Parksand <br />Recreation Commission will review and trackannually”. <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss made a motion to approve and move forward the Parksand <br />Recreation System Master Plan Goals and Policies with the suggestions andamendments. <br />Vice Chair O’Brien seconds. Motion passedunanimously. <br />ONGOINGTOPICS <br />6) <br />Cedarholm Community BuildingReplacement <br />a) <br />The Cedarholm Clubhouse Building has been demolished. The anticipated timeline forthe <br />new Community Buildingincludes: <br />September 25, 2017 –Clubhousedemolition <br />October 2017–Footing and foundation workbegins <br />Winter 2018 –Construction of the cart storage facilitybegins <br /> <br />
