Public Hearing to Approve/Deny an On-Sale Wine and On-Sale 3.2% Liquor
License for Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville at Lexington, located at 2680
Lexington Avenue N
As detailed in the RCA, Finance Director Chris Miller recommended approval of
the requested liquor licenses for this facility. Mr. Miller reported that city offi-
cials and the City Attorney had reviewed city code, and even though a unique sit-
uation, the application was permitted and after review, had been determined to be
in order.
Mayor Roe opened and closed the public hearing at approximately 9:46 p.m.; with
no one appearing for or against.
Etten moved, Willmus seconded, approval of the request by Cherrywood Pointe
of Roseville at Lexington for an On-Sale Wine License and an On-Sale 3.2% Liq-
uor License, located at 2680 Lexington Avenue N.
Without the benefit of more detailed information, Councilmember McGehee stat-
ed her concern with the availability of alcohol when it could possibly be mixed
with important medications of residents living at this facility. Therefore, Coun-
cilmember McGehee stated her opposition to the motion.
Councilmember Laliberte asked if there was a desire by the applicant to extend
this type of license to other Cherrywood Pointe locations.
Finance Director Miller responded that the city had only received this one appli-
cation specific to this location at this time; to accommodate an amenity to their
food service in the facility's dining hall for residents and their visitors.
Speaking as a guest at similar facilities, Mayor Roe advised that he was aware of
such an amenity being offered for residents and/or their guests.
Roll Call
Ayes: Willmus, Etten and Roe.
Nays: McGehee and Laliberte.
Motion carried.
