Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: October 24, 2017 <br />Item Description: Communication Items <br />Item No: 4 <br />Public Works Project updates: <br />• 2017 Pavement Management Project <br />o This year's project involves 7 miles of street resurfacing, 1 mile of watermain <br />replacement and various storm sewer upgrades. <br />o The project is approximately 90% completed. Project should be completed by <br />early November. <br />• Water Booster Station Update and Water Model <br />o Begin sometime late fall. <br />• Lift Station Project <br />o Project has been awarded. Construction will most likely start sometime in early <br />spring of 2018. <br />Parks Renewal Pathway Project <br />o The contractor is currently installing new sidewalks/pathways in the following <br />locations; <br />• North side of County Road B between Dale St and Sandhurst <br />• East side of Lexington between Roselawn Ave and County Road B <br />• West side of Victoria between County Road C and Woodhill Drive <br />• Anew pathway within Tamarack Park from Farrington St to the new <br />playground equipment. <br />o Work is anticipated to be completed in the next three weeks. <br />Oasis Pond: The Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) in partnership with the City of <br />Roseville, received a grant from the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BW SR) to <br />install an Iron Enhanced Sand Filter at Oasis Pond. The project will pump water from <br />Oasis Pond through a mixture of sand and iron shavings that will remove soluble <br />phosphorus from the water prior to discharging it back to Ramsey County Ditch 4. The <br />project will remove 34 lbs of phosphorus on an annual basis, which is roughly 20% of the <br />waste load allocation from the approved Total Maximum Daily Load (TMWDL) study <br />for Little Lake Johanna. The project is designed to be on the east side of Oasis Park, just <br />west of Lincoln Drive in an underutilized area, currently consisting of turf grass. The <br />project, with an estimated cost of $350,000, is proposed to be bid out this November, and <br />installed in 2018. Roseville's share of the project is $10,000 in local funding, and the <br />City will also take over long term maintenance. <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation updates: <br />• County Road B2 and Snelling signal project is currently under construction. The project <br />includes an additional left turn lane into Rosedale Center and the replacement of the <br />signal light. Work should be completed sometime in early November. <br />• MnDOT is finalizing plans to perform pavement maintenance on 35W south of TH 36 in <br />2018. There will be impacts to some ramps in Roseville including the Cleveland <br />
