The wrong roads are being <br />built. <br />Chair Cihacek suggested they add Item 3.8, "Advocate for future construction to <br />meet demographic demand." <br />Member Seigler commented the City needs to take a stand. Under the current <br />system, they cannot have a safe and efficient roadway network during rush hour. <br />Chair Cihacek requested Member Seigler draft language and send it out to the <br />Commission for consideration at the next meeting. <br />The Commission agreed to remove Item 4.11. <br />Item 5.3. Aguessively expand Roseville's off-road pathway system. <br />Member Seigler explained this item may have made sense 10 years ago, but right <br />now he is unsure where they would even build more pathways. <br />Chair Cihacek suggested it be changed to, "Investigate expansion of Roseville's <br />off-road pathway system." <br />Member Seigler pointed out the pathway system is addressed in Items 5.4 and 5.5. <br />Mr. Freihammer commented they have put in 10 miles of sidewalk in the last 10 <br />years. <br />The Commission agreed to remove Item 5.3, and accept Items 5.5 and 5.6 as <br />proposed. <br />Mr. Mareck referred to the Transportation Plan Strategies beginning on page 37 of <br />the meeting packet. He reported briefly on some of the sites that fit under existing <br />programmed activities and studies, congested roadway corridors, congested <br />intersections, high crash locations, freight, interchanges, functional classifications, <br />citizen based roadway concerns, transit, and bike and pedestrian. This list provides <br />staff, Commissions, and the Council ideas for discussion for the CIP and meetings <br />with adjacent cities and the County. <br />Mr. Mareck explained County Road B2 has been identified by Mn/DOT and the <br />Metropolitan Council as the third highest truck crash hotspot in the Twin Cities. <br />Mr. Freihammer commented it probably refers to County Road B2 on the western <br />side between Lexington and Cleveland. It is good to note it ranks very high in terms <br />of a crash rate. <br />Member Seigler inquired how an intersection could be improved. <br />Page 11 of 14 <br />
