Member Seigler inquired if the reference to local road networks referred to the paths
as well.
Mr. Freihammer stated these items could be added to Item 3.7
Chair Cihacek suggested Item 3.7 be changed to, "Maintain high-quality
neighborhoods through maintenance programs to include the City's Management
Pavement Program, reconstruction of safe streets, regular street sweeping, effective
snow and ice removal..."
Member Wozniak agreed and stated it should be applied to both roadways and
pathways.
Mr. Freihammer stated staff will add Member Wozniak's comments to Item 3.7,
and expand it to include pathways.
Member Seigler commented they should communicate to the Metropolitan Council
that highway and highway lane growth are creating an unsafe environment on the
City's roads and affecting their ability to create a safe and efficient roadway
network.
Chair Cihacek suggested they change it to, "advocate for congestion reduction
strategies for the City to communicate to appropriate parties."
Member Seigler stated some communities receive more construction than
Roseville, and they need to communicate they do not have a safe and efficient
roadway network.
Member Wozniak stated they need to address the impact of congested traffic on
local roads.
The Commission agreed to have staff construct language to include Chair Cihacek's
previous suggestion relating to Item 3.7.
Item 4.4. Support the Rosedale Transit Hub and Snelling Avenue Transit Corridor,
promote and advocate for the extension of the A Line Bus Rapid Transit Line, and
examine the feasibilitv of adding mini -hubs in other areas of the Citv.
Mr. Mareck explained the blue text was added in by staff after meeting with the
focus groups.
Chair Cihacek explained this item seems overly specific, and the A -Line is a very
specific route recommendation. He suggested it be changed to "...promote and
advocate for the promotion of transit lines..."
Member Seigler referred to Item 4.2 and inquired what else the City could support.
