<br />The preliminary financial information for the project included a $230,000 budget estimate for <br />the preliminary construction. An additional 55% ($126,500) is anticipated if an outside <br />construction manager was hired. Staff feels comfortable with their ability to complete the <br />project in-house with a budget estimate of $250,000. <br /> <br />Commissioner Heikkila requested information on the timeline for the project. Staff relayed <br />that it is anticipated to be a 2018 project. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair O’Brien stated that she was impressed with the process utilized for the Cleveland <br />Avenue Site Planning. She felt there was many opportunities for community input and that <br />the turnout at tonight’s meeting was very good. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hoag moved to recommend approval of the Cleveland Avenue Preferred <br />Master Plan to the City Council. Due to the unique targeted population, a creative approach was <br /> necessary in order to find ways to bring the planning process to the residents in that <br /> community. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />June 27, 2017 – Information gathering “Popsicle in the Park” event (60 attendees) <br /> <br /> <br />June 28, 2017 – Information gathering at the Tamarack Discover Your Park’s <br /> (DYP) event (100 attendees) <br /> <br /> <br />Tuesday, September 12, 2017 – Community gathering to hear opportunities and <br /> feedback (75 attendees) <br /> <br /> <br />Tuesday, October 17, 2017 – Concept Design Review on site (55 attendees) and <br /> at Galilee Church (10 attendees) <br /> <br /> In addition, feedback was collected via on-line, phone calls, website, and individual <br /> meetings. <br /> <br />Major with LHB complimented everyone on the creative ways that were utilized to <br />engage the kids and families in the planning process for the Marion Street site. <br /> <br />Major provided details on the Preferred Concept, which includes a hill slide, timber <br />stairs, garden, play area and paths. She relayed that the kids had been disappointed that <br />there was not a swimming pool in the preferred concept. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
