<br /> Commissioner Hoag suggested the potential of a small water feature or the ability to have <br /> a water feature in the future. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Heikkila asked about the ability to have services at the park. Staff stated <br /> that the Preferred Concept includes a larger hard surface area to accommodate potential <br /> community services in the park. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Stoner suggested adding an additional trail so that each of the parking lots <br /> had a connecting trail. <br /> <br /> The preliminary financial information for the project included a budget estimate of <br /> $200,000. An additional 55% ($110,000) is anticipated if an outside construction <br /> manager was hired. Staff feels comfortable with their ability to complete the project in- <br /> house with a budget estimate of $250,000. <br /> <br /> Staff relayed that both the Cleveland Avenue and Marion Street sites may include a <br /> Community Build and/or Community Planting opportunities. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Baggenstoss relayed his excitement for the Marion Street site and <br /> suggested the possibility of including a pollinator garden at both the Cleveland Site and <br /> Marion Site that could be utilized for educational purposes. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Baggenstoss moved to recommend the Marion Street Preferred Master <br /> Plan to the City Council. Commissioner Stoner seconds. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> Vice-Chair O’Brien reiterated that the outreach for input on the Marion Street Project <br /> was very impressive. <br /> <br /> Director Brokke thanked Taylor and Major for all of their hard work on the planning and <br /> process for the Marion and Cleveland sites. He also thanked the Commission for their <br /> engagement and feedback throughout the process. <br /> <br />b) Cedarholm Community Building Replacement <br /> Work continues to move forward with the Cedarholm Community Building replacement. <br /> Next Steps in the replacement include working on below grade plumbing and getting the <br /> site prepped for slab-on-grade. <br /> <br /> The Hamline Bridge near Cedarholm will be closed November 9-11, 2017 beginning <br /> Friday after rush hour for utility connections. Access to the on/off ramp at Hamline to 36 <br /> <br /> <br />
