Five items (see discussion below) were
identified as requiring City and County coordination. The last af these items
concerns the Sheriff's Lake Watch Program, which is nat discussed here.
In 1996, Ramsey County Public Works supplied a NO WAKE buay to the Caunty
Sheriff's Department to designate the 150 foot NO WAKE distance in the
southeast carner af Lake Owasso. This buoy was replaced in the same lacation
by the Sheriff's Department in 1997. Lieutenant Jerry Bergeron of the Sheriff's
Water Patral has indicated that they will continue to place the buoy in the future.
County Public Works will place a NO WAKE buoy designating the 150 faot NO
`J1,AK osace at ts oat rrN Gac srin s Na-t a tha amp ma ►c uy
installation.
Ramsey County Public Warks na langer fabricates special order signs. Fram the
County's perspective, it is advantageous for the Cities of Raseville and
Shoreview to design the desired signage to reflect the ordinance requirements
and arrange for fabrication of the signs through normal vendors. Public Works
can install the signs at the boat ramp upon consultation with the County Parks
Department.
The lake augmentation well on Lake Owasso is no longer permitted for use by
DNR Commissianer's Order, because it is a low priority use for groundwater.
The well is also a possible source of groundwater contamination, which is a
° ea's F`it Iome iule County
printed on recyr,led paper w16h x minimnm of 10% posteansumer r,ontenG
