The Task <br />Force alsa explared legal, safety/enfarcement, and environment issues. As a result af <br />�heir deliberations, the Task Farce made a series of recommendations for Cauncil <br />consideration. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVEa <br />The attached resolution begins the implementation of the recommendations. 1"he <br />�mplementation of these recommendations will: <br />• Imprave infarmatian pravided to lake residents and users regarding Bake <br />usage requirements. <br />• Increase amaunt of Sheriff's Water Patrol. <br />• Assure public participation regarding requests for activities an the lake. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />Ta implement the recommendatians would require expenditures far the following: <br />•$1,152 for 1997 to pay for "supplemental law enforcement services" with <br />Ramsey County for additional water patrol on Lake Owasso. The same <br />amount would be included in the proposed 1998 Budget. <br />The amaunt is one-fifth of Shoreview's agreement with the Caunty to provide <br />$5,760 for extra patrol on five lakes. The $1,152 will provide far 36 additional <br />haurs of patral at a cost of $32 per haur. This patrol would be scheduled on <br />weekends between Memorial Day and Labar Day. <br />� Possible cost to participate in the goose harvesting program in 1998. <br />• Possible cost far assisting County with signage at the public boat launch. <br />
