Lake Ovt►asso is located within the corporation boundaries of Shorevi�w <br />and 12aseville and has a large public access for boa�s. The waters uf Lake Owasso arc used <br />extensively by the public foz boacing, fishing and nzher recreatzonal puiposes. <br />Rcgulacion of boati� traffic on Lake Qwasso is necessary in order ro �rot$ct th� health, safery <br />and welfare of the r�sidents of Sho�e�view and fioseville who raside on pr�pe�ties susroundin�� <br />Lake OWasSo and of those pcople who use L,ake Owasso for recreatiar�l purposes. By means <br />of this 7oint Powers Agreement adopced pursuazit to 1�1inn• Stat. §§ 459.20 and 471.59, <br />Shoreview and Ros�ville will establish ;uidelines ap�licable to che adopjion of ord.inances by <br />each City restricting the s�eed and use of watercraft on Lake Owasso, <br />IIy, TBRMS AND C�NDTTiONS. In conside�atxon of thz mutual undercakings hezein <br />�a:pressed, Shoreview and Roseville agree as foilows: <br />A. <br />�ach Ciry shall adopt an ordinan�e whic� i�c�corporates the following guidel�ines: <br />1, Watetcraft speed on Lake Owasso shall not exceed forty miles per hour (40 znph) <br />which speed lirnit shall be it� effect ?A� houzs pez� day. <br />2. <br />'Within 150 feec o� the shore of Lake Owasso, motoriz,�d waurcraft and persons <br />being towed on recreational equipment by such waiercraft, shall not exceed a <br />"slow, ''' eed as defined by the State of Mint�esota's Boatittg <br />�Zules <br />i. <br />no-wake zate of sp <br />with che follotiving exccptions: <br />Srxaight vut depamire and strai�ht in return from and to the shoxe; anci <br />ii.
